Dental Implants are titanium inserts that are used to replace missing teeth. This can be in place of a single missing tooth, numerous missing teeth or a mouth with no remaining teeth. Dental Implants can avoid the need for partial or full dentures by the use of implant supported bridges.

Dentures and removable appliances have obvious problems. They are loose and unstable. Implants can provide patients with dental replacements that are both functional and aesthetic. They can also provide ‘anchors’ for dentures to become firm and stabilised. ( Firm Dentures)

Anyone of reasonable health who wants to replace missing teeth is a candidate for Dental Implants.

The first step to getting dental Implants will always involve an examination. An assessment can be made, but further diagnostic x-rays are usually needed to gain the required information.

ABOVE- Single implant replacing one missing tooth. Can eliminate the need for partial dentures all while not imposing on the remaining teeth to keep the dental arch intact.

ABOVE- 3 unit bridge supported by two implants. This type of case can replace 3 or more teeth with just two implants placed. Helps avoid dentures while maintaining a stable arch and occlusion.

ABOVE- Full arch bridge where a patient has lost all there teeth. The example above involves 6 implants. This treatment can eliminate the need for dentures while providing a fixed ( non removable) dentition replacement.

LEFT- In this example a denture can be stabilised and ‘anchored’ to implants. Although still a removable denture, stability can improve dramatically allowing for far greater comfort and function.( Firm Dentures)
